Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel are set to make their India debut

Prior to the game, in addition to having a lengthy batting session, Sarfaraz practiced slip catching with Rajat Patidar in the gully and Yashasvi Jaiswal at second slip. The entire time, Dhruv Jurel was wearing the wicketkeeping gloves during the workout, which coach Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid were intently observing. It is expected that Sarfaraz Khan will replace Shreyas Iyer, who has been benched for the remaining three Test matches. In the second Test, Rajat Patidar made his debut for India, and he is probably going to stay there while KL Rahul is out with an injury.

KL Rahul was replaced by Devdutt Padikkal, although it is doubtful that the Karnataka batsman would go on the pitch before Sarfaraz Khan, who has amassed an enormous amount of runs in domestic cricket. Sarfaraz also struck a hundred for India A against England Lions.
