Scotland maintained their unbeaten streak in the tournament with a dramatic, last-gasp victory over Papua New Guinea, successfully chasing down a target of 119. Papua New Guinea elected to bat first, with Hollan Doriga scoring a standout knock of 63. However, their innings imploded during the final overs thanks to Chloe Abel. Abel expertly produced a sensational performance, claiming her maiden international five-wicket haul for just 13 runs, including a triple-wicket maiden that restricted PNG to 118-8.
In reply, Scotland fell behind the required run rate despite solid starts from Darcey Carter and Ellen Watson. Sarah Bryce anchored the recovery with a vital, unbeaten 39 off 29 deliveries.
Although the late run-out of Megan McColl left the Scots needing five runs from four balls, Rachel Slater became the hero. She struck a boundary on the penultimate delivery, securing the win for her team. Scotland now prepares to face the Netherlands.
