Skipper Aaron Finch might possibly miss the match against Afghanistan

Finch and middle-order "finisher" Tim David is questionable for Adelaide, where Australia will complete their Super 12s group stage, after suffering hamstring injuries in this week's victory over Ireland. Only the top two teams go to the semi-finals, and although Australia is currently tied with New Zealand and England in terms of points, the home team and defending champions have a far lower net rate. 

Finch was upbeat about his and David's chances of playing on Friday night, but he was certain he would sit out if he felt it would hurt Australia's chances of winning. If they defeat Ireland, New Zealand will likely win the group, given their net run rate is higher than that of England and Australia, who were soundly defeated by the Kiwis in their opening match.
