South Africa held nerves to beat England by 10 runs in their final group game

The England team was dealt a major setback when opener Jason Roy departed the field midway through their T20 World Cup match against South Africa, which the Proteas won by 10 runs. When Jos Buttler and Roy took a single in the second delivery of the fifth over, the opener completed the run by jumping on one leg and sitting down on the ground before breaking down in tears.

The all-rounder was forced to limp off the field due to the severity of the injury, with teammate Tom Curran and England physio supporting the 31-year-old. Roy, who is reported to have injured his left calf muscle, was later spotted walking with a crutch on the pitch after the game ended to greet the opposing players. Despite the loss, England remains in first place in Group 1 with four wins from five games.
