West Indies failed to even post 100 runs in the first inning before they were knocked out of the field with the Proteas' lethal bowling attack. South Africa continued their relentless pace on day three of the first Test in St Lucia. West Indies who were hoping to defeat South Africa before heading into the match was limping for 82 for 4 and need 143 runs at stumps on the second day.
Quinton de Kock posted an unbeaten 141 to help South Africa to a first-innings total of 322 and enjoyed a 225 runs lead. Later Kagiso Rabada and Nortje continued their attack scalping two wickets each and maintain their control. While the home side was reeling under the weight of De Kock’s attack but could not take his wicket and had to settle for Ngidi’s wicket with Jason Holder working his magic and finished 75-4.
