The third and last ODI match of the three-match series between South Africa and India, saw the Men in Blue sweat it out on the field in the hopes to stop a complete sweep but failed miserably. Quinton de Kock enjoyed a record night with his ton and Proteas cruised to a 3-0 win while KL Rahul became the first Indian to lose his initial 3 ODIs as a commander. India made upwards of four changes to their group with Suryakumar Yadav, Jayant Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, and Deepak Chahar coming in.
India started strong with wickets of Janneman Malan and Temba Bavuma but de Kock stood his ground in form. Later Rassie van der Dussen also pummeled a splendid fifty sharing a 144-run stand with De Kock and setting up a 287 score. In their chase, the new captain KL Rahul slipped early still the 98 runs remain between Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli kept them in the fight but later India could muster just 223 runs in response and lost the third successive match.
