South Africa sets up a huge 324 chase for West Indies

South Africa built its lead to 323 runs after adding 174 runs in the Second Test against West Indies. On the third day of the two-Test series, West Indies’ hope of winning the second test to force a draw against South Africa were subdued after Rassie van der Dussen’s half century changed the momentum. West Indies have put up a best total of 162 runs in the series so far and the chances of winning the second match seem slim. They had corned Proteas to 73-7 with Kemar Roach and Kyle Mayers wreaking havoc on their batting order but the 70 runs eighth-wicket partnership with van der Dussen and Kagiso Rabada diminished their hopes of winning.

Van der Dussen posted an unbeaten 75 to help South Africa’s comeback. West Indies could just put up 15 runs without a loss in 6 overs to trail by 309 in the end. Openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Kieran Powell have a tough task to guide the team to a win.
