South Africa has rested a number of key players for the three one-day internationals against Sri Lanka next month. But as the Twenty20 series would serve as training for the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates the players would return to play then. Proteas would play three ODIs in Colombo and they would be without the trio, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, and seamer Lungi Ngidi. Leading batsman De Kock is rested for the upcoming World cup, Miller is dealing with a hamstring injury and Ngidi has some personal reasons to deal with.
The All-rounder Dwaine Pretorius returns to the lineup after having missed both West Indies and Ireland tours. The T20 series is scheduled from September 10-14 and would feature the trio. South Africa has had success in their last two T20 series against West Indies and Ireland, they are hopeful with Sri Lanka series as well.
