Sri Lanka denies Australia a clean sweep

Sri Lanka saved face in the fifth and final T20I against Australia by winning with five wickets. Despite the fact that they had already lost the series to the hosts. Kusal Mendis’s unbeaten knock of 69 runs and skipper Dasun Shanaka’s efforts paved the way for Sri Lanka’s victory on Sunday as they stopped a series of whitewashes by securing a win. Australia had dominated the previous four matches between the two and was looking at a clean sweep with the last match of the series.

Sri Lanka then found their long-lost confidence back and their swift bowling attack left Australia crawling with 58 for three off 10 overs but later Matthew Wade and Daniel Sams pushed the team to 154 runs. Sri Lanka was fired up playing for their pride, Mendis and Shanaka shared an 83-run stand and then ended the thrilling finale in their favor.
