During a daily routine check, it was found that Krunal Pandya was found positive according to Sri Lanka Cricket in a statement. Owing to this the match was put on a hold just hours before the commencement of the match. The board mentioned that the medical teams have specified other eight members who were in close proximity or contact with Krunal Pandya. It has been added that the whole team with be undergoing RT-PCR tests, maybe today to verify whether any other player has been infected by the coronavirus strain.
This marks the second time in the season, that too under a week that an international cricket match has been postponed or delayed at the last call due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
