Sri Lanka leveled the Test series against Pakistan

Sri Lanka avenged their loss in Test 1 by hammering out Pakistan with a big 246-run win. The spin duo of Prabath Jayasuriya and Ramesh Mendis clinched 5 for 117 and 4 for 101 to leave Pakistan gasping for air, the touring team’s battling lineup was then snuffed out at 261 in the second test match at Galle International Stadium. Jayasuriya later won the Player of the Series award for his 8 for 112 while Dhananjaya de Silva was given the Player of the Match for his 109-run contribution.

In the post-match interview, Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne stated that the players worked hard and managed to level the Test series to one all. In the 77 overs, Pakistan saw a good contribution from Babar Azam at 81 Imam-ul-Haq at 49 Mohammad Rizwan at 37.
