Sri Lanka levels the series with Australia

Sri Lanka managed to pull back Australia’s batting order and restrict them to 189 runs as they continued their pursuit of 216 runs in 43 overs after the target was set by the DLS method. Australia looked strong in their pursuit at 123-3 until spinner Dunith Wellalage struck at the right time and clinched important wickets of Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne. Later Karunaratne and Dushmantha Chameera ensured a Sri Lankan victory which leveled the series. Karunaratne took three wickets including Glenn Maxwell to power the side and win the drenched one-day international by 26 runs.

Earlier Australia fielded first and confined Sri Lanka to 220-9 in 47.4 overs before the game was interrupted by rain. Kusal Mendis scored 36 runs and Pat Cummins started with 4-35. The five-match series would continue in Colombo now.
