Sri Lanka came into the ODI match with Australia with a chance to seal the five-match series and did just that with a superb fighting spirit and beat the other side by four runs in the 4th ODI cricket fixture at R. Premadasa International cricket stadium. Dhanajaya de Silva and Charith Asalanka’s fourth-wicket partnership where they added 101 runs to the scoreboard became the match-winning partnership for the side. Sri Lanka made history with a big win over Australia for the first time in 30 years.
The man of the match award went to Asalanka whose knock of 110 runs against the strong bowling lineup was commendable. Australia was chasing 259 runs and with Dasun Shanaka bowling the last over with 19 runs left to win the match, Australia fumbled and was bowled out for 254.
