Surya smashes a century for India in 2nd T20 against NZ

Suryakumar Yadav procured a sensational T20 batting show on way to a phenomenal 111 not out off 51 balls, fueling India to 191 for six in the second game against New Zealand here on Sunday. Surya played around with the bowlers to uplift India to a taxing total after New Zealand put the visitors in for batting first. While Surya was high up in his zone, other batsmen also showed intent but could not go further; namely opener Ishan Kishan (36 off 31) and number four Shreyas Iyer (13 of 9). The experimental to let Rishabh Pant open did not turn out to be fruitful as he walked out after a limp six off 13 balls.

Surya stepped in at number three in lieu of Virat Kohli and hit boundaries back and forth, while also firing sixes at will, his last 64 runs slipping off just 18 balls.
