T20 World Cup: Shami, Jadeja keep India in the running for Semis

After the two back-to-back heavy losses India rolled over Scotland with relative ease on Friday to solidify their chances of qualifying for the next round in the T20 World Cup at Dubai. Facing India’s seasoned bowlers Scotland was bundled out at 85 in 17.4 overs in the Super 12 matchup. India needed to improve their net run rate and need points to make themselves eligible for the next stage and after winning the toss Virat Kohli’s side made both things happen.

Jasprit Bumrah returned with a beautiful figure of 2/10 as the Scottish batters struggled to put runs on the scoreboard, Bumrah also became India’s highest wicket-taker in the shortest version by overtaking Yuzvendra Chahal (65 scalps). Later Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja’s lethal attack of 3/15 each left Scotland reeling. Chasing the low score, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma were instrumental and help finish the match in 6.3 overs.
