The Delhi Capitals have parted ways with coach Ricky Ponting after seven years.

However, after failing to lead the club to the finals in each of the previous three IPL seasons, the Capitals confirmed on Saturday that Ponting will not be taking on the role of coach in 2025. The Capitals said on Twitter, "As you move on as our head coach, we're finding it incredibly hard to put this down in words." This year, Ponting's contract expired. The Capitals clarified on social media that they were the ones who fired the coach, following up with a statement confirming his dismissal.
