Tom Curran returns to the UK, after injuring himself while playing for Sydney Sixers in Big Bash League. The player would have to undergo rehabilitation to return to fitness and is set to miss the rest of the BBL season. The team's leading wicket-taker in the 2019-2020 who helped the team to title as well during that campaign would not be able to help Sixers in their title chase this season.
Last season as Sixers' squad did not include Curran due to travel and quarantine issues. In this season Curran had taken six wickets in four matches and was supposed to play along with English team-mate Chris Jordan. This is the third blow to the defending champions who would also miss spinners Ben Manenti and Steve O'Keefe due to injuries. The team is still at the top of the table and captain Moises Henriques has high hopes from the side.
