Varun Chakravarthy is likely to be seen in T20I

With lots of talent waiting in the wings, India will have selection issues even when putting together a team from a sort of second-string roster to face Sri Lanka. The visitors won the ODI series 2-1 and will now compete in a three-match T20I series beginning July 25 in Colombo.

Mystery spinner, Varun Chakravarthy is set to make his debut after being left out of the first two ODIs. Also, Chakravarthy was one of six uncapped players in India's 25-man roster prior to the commencement of this series. He received his first call-up before India's 2020 tour of Australia, however, he was unable to participate due to a shoulder injury. Notably, India, who held a 2-0 lead going into the third and final ODI, gave debuts to as many as five players: Nitish Rana, Sanju Samson, Krishnappa Gowtham, Chetan Sakariya, and Rahul Chahar. Chakravarthy, on the other hand, was not considered.
