West Indies 104-run win over Afghanistan

During their last Group C encounter of the T20 World Cup, West Indies defeated Afghanistan by 104 runs thanks to an outstanding batting performance spearheaded by Nicholas Pooran. Both sides were guaranteed a spot in the Super 8, but it was the two-time winners WI who showed off their batting prowess, scoring a massive 218 for five, with Pooran smashing six sixes in his 53-ball 98. Pooran struck as much as eight maximums and six fours during his visit, making Afghanistan's decision to bowl first miserably.

Afghanistan managed just 114 in 16.2 overs as a result of pressure from the scoreboard in response. On June 20, the hosts will play England in their Super 8 Group 2 encounter. Afghanistan lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz early in their pursuit of a massive objective and was unable to overcome the setback.
