West Indies won by 7 runs

Tuesday's third Twenty20 international between the West Indies and South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg resulted in a seven-run victory for the West Indies against South Africa thanks to a late batting surge by Romario Shepherd and an impressive five-wicket performance by Alzarri Joseph. By scoring 44 not out off 22 balls and sharing a ninth wicket undefeated run of 59 off 26 balls with Joseph, who also scored 14 not out, Shepherd helped the West Indies move from 161 for eight to 220 for eight.

Rovman Powell, the new West Indies T20 skipper, claimed that the players have heeded his message "You must be clever as well as courageous and natural. In this series, the boys were great." Quinton de Kock (21) and David Miller's wickets in the second match at Centurion, which South Africa won with a world record run chase of 259 runs, were significant blows delivered by Joseph, who was absent.
