New Zealand leader Kane Williamson, will miss the two game Test series with South Africa as the team decides to rest the player. The series is set to take start on 17th February 2022 and Kiwis would be hosting the team without their batting leader Williamson, he suffered an elbow injury and is set to undergo rehabilitation for it.
In his absence, Tom Latham would be serving as the stand-in and the team would also miss Ross Taylor in the lineup, who announced his retirement from Test cricket last month. From Proteas’ side Keegan Petersen would miss the match after testing positive for Covid-19. The South African team would depart for New Zealand on Wednesday while the host will reveal their final squad soon.
