The inaugural World Test Championship was held in Lords only recently, where the top two teams from the point table entertained the world. It was a tough fight between New Zealand and India last year at Lords even if the festivities were marred by the Covid-19 scare. Still, the organizers are ready to host another final at the Lords next year and The ICC Chairperson Greg Barclay has hinted the same.
Currently, the venue is playing host to the English cricket team and World Champions New Zealand for the Test series where the champions enjoy an upper hand. The first inning might not have gone as well as they hoped with the batting order falling quickly at 132 then on the second day Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell kept the winning hopes alive with 180 run partnership.
