GAM's exclusion from MSI 2023 was the result of a lack of mental preparedness

Despite suffering a humiliating loss to NA second seed Golden Guardians in the opening round of the competition, GAM entered their match against Movistar R7 of Latin America on the MSI stage as the favourites to win. However, they would eventually fall well short. R7 won the series after three games, although the manner in which GAM was ousted was more disappointing than the defeat itself.  

The squad is renowned for its ferocious play, but according to their coach Huỳnh “HanKay” Tấn Đạt strain of competing on an international platform and in front of an audience played a trick on the confidence of GAM's players. The GAM coach is certain that his side can defeat any significant location; all they need to do is better prepare for the psychological battle that takes place when players enter a crowd.
