Prestige Edition Skins in League: How to Unlock the Rarest Cosmetics

Prestige Edition skins in League of Legends are the game’s rarest cosmetics, featuring standout gold visuals and special effects. First launched at Worlds 2018 with Prestige K/DA Kai’Sa, these skins quickly gained popularity, leading Riot Games to release Prestige versions for select champions. Unlike other skins, Prestige Editions can't be purchased with Riot Points. Instead, they’re unlocked through special events or by using Mythic Essence in the Mythic Shop. 

Each skin includes a gold-bordered loading screen, unique splash art, and upgraded animations. In response to criticism that early Prestige skins were just expensive gold chromas, Riot has since improved their quality and design diversity. With dozens available today and Riot updating the Mythic Shop regularly, players can earn these exclusive skins by completing event passes or saving up enough Mythic Essence for their favorite champions.
