Mercedes has been in limelight all throughout the British Grand Prix catering to Lewis Hamilton’s outstanding pace in the Silverstone track adding to the controversial win beating the Red Bull champion, Max Verstappen ending his victory era. It is quite natural to expect great things from Mercedes in the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix scheduled this weekend after such a grand win. But Mercedes’ trackside engineer, Andrew Shovlin feels differently saying that the Silverstone performance is hard to achieve in Hungary.
According to Shovlin, red bull has an advantage over W12 at high-downforce Hungaroring, though was extremely dependable to win the British GP. The engineer also adds that the last upgrade package aided the win at Silverstone but RB16B is better suited for the high-downforce circuit. With Hamilton eight points behind Max and Mercedes four behind Red Bull, the victory at Hungaroring is crucial for winning the lead in the drivers’ race and also the GP.
