Red Bull hires McCullogh from Aston Martin to replace Lambiase

Red Bull have added another major figure to their technical structure, securing Tom McCullogh as their new head of race engineering. The move, reported by Bild, follows the recent arrival of Gwen Lagrue from Mercedes to lead the Red Bull Junior Programme, signalling an aggressive recruitment phase after several departures in recent years. McCullogh had already been linked with an exit from Aston Martin, where he served as performance director, and will now oversee all trackside operations and coordinate the engineering group during race weekends.

His appointment effectively replaces Gianpiero Lambiase, who will join McLaren in 2028. Lambiase also held the role of race engineer, a position that will be taken over by Tom Hart. The addition of McCullogh strengthens Red Bull’s operational department as the team aims to reinforce its competitive structure and maintain stability amid ongoing changes within its technical leadership.
