Valtteri Bottas hasn't ruled out a return to Mercedes

Once more, Valtteri Bottas has stated that a "long term deal" is his first goal while refusing to completely rule out the possibility of returning to Mercedes in Formula One in 2025. When his contract expires at the end of 2024, Bottas's status in Formula One will be unknown.

It appears that Audi wants Carlos Sainz or one of the Alpine pair to take his position, thus Bottas will have to find another car. The Finn has been linked to a move to Williams and Haas, but Mercedes is still a possibility. If they believe Andrea Kimi Anontelli isn't ready or need a temporary replacement while they wait for Max Verstappen, Mercedes may be enticed to bring Bottas back. Before the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Bottas was questioned about his incredible comeback to Mercedes. "I think at the moment everything is an option," he replied. However, I still favor long-term agreements.
