“I want Gundogan to be here next season"

Manchester City have already notified Ilkay Gundogan that he needs to look for a new team. The English club are not wanting to renew his current contract, due to expire next year, and so have given him the freedom of deciding exactly who he wants to play for in the next step of his career. A number of big clubs have began to show interest in the German centremidfielder.

However, his manager, Pep Guardiola wants him to stay at the club. The Spaniard is a fan of the way the ex Dortmund man plays and was his first signing after arriving at the club. Gundogan has been a key player for Guardiola since 2016.
