13 arrested and four police officers injured after chaos at West Ham-Anderlecht

West Ham received and beat Anderlecht 2-1 on Thursday for the fourth round of the group stage of the Conference League, which was marked by serious incidents caused by fans of the visiting team.

At the 88th minute, Sebastiano Esposito scored, by penalty, the goal that relaunched the Belgian team in the game, causing 'untie' the confusion in the stands of the Olympic Stadium in London dedicated to the visitors.

According to the British newspaper The Sun, the authorities carried out a total of 13 arrests, one of which related to an alleged attempt to attack an agent, the others being motivated by the launching of projectiles.

In the aftermath, four police officers were injured. The publication, which speaks of "chaos", reveals that two of them had to be hospitalized, one after being hit with a chair in the head, and another with suspected fracture of the wrist.
