Week 1 Preview: Aduana welcome Allies in Dormaa

Aduana Stars are set to commence the ‘second’ defense of their Premier League title as they face it off with Inter Allies at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park in Dormaa.

It was a turbulence ‘unnormal’ time for the defending champions in the NC Special competition but their recent activities both on and off the pitch seem to have lifted their spirit ahead of the resumption of the league.

It took Inter Allies 78 days to give Paa Kwesi Fabin the sack to be replaced by the experience Tony Lokko. Coach Lokko arrived with a wealth of experience having previously led clubs like Hearts of Oak, Heart of Lions, Tema Youth and Amidaus Professionals.

Paul Tandoh, the coach of Aduana and former Physical Trainer of Hearts of Oak, has made some decent young acquisitions as he seeks to blend them with the experienced players like Yahaya Mohammed, Paul Aidoo, Emmanuel Akuoko, Elvis Opoku, Caleb Amankwah, Hafiz Adams, Joseph Addo.

There has never been any humiliating time for Allies since joining the premier league than that of their last visit to the Agyeman Badu Park. Their last visit did not end well, it left with a bitter taste in their mouths as they were walloped 6-0. A defeat that stands as their heaviest since joining the topflight and will be aiming to do better this time around.

This will be the tenth meeting in the premier league between the two with Aduana winning 5, drawing 1 and losing 3 in their previous 9. A total of 21 goals have been scored in these 9 games.

Inter Allies are yet to win a game on the road against Aduana as they have lost 4 of their 5 visits with 1 ending in a draw. Aduana have scored 11 goals in conceded just 2 with 3 clean sheets.

It’ll be a very difficult game for Allies as their statistics on the road requires a lot to be desired at the moment. Trecking to Dormaa and coming back with a point would mean the world to coach Lokko and his charges. But, the Dormaa side are poised to start the 18-club season with a blast.
