Ander Herrera discusses Sergio Ramos’ mindset after return from injury

The 35-year-old is filling the veteran shoes left behind by Thiago Silva. However, it’s taken some time for him to see the pitch.

Nonetheless, it appears he’s ready to be in the lineup consistently, and Ander Herrera recently spoke with Mundo Deportivo, where he discussed how Ramos is integrating into the squad after missing so much time in the first few months of the season.

“He’s used to feeling important, playing and being a leader on the pitch; it couldn’t have been easy. He has been training for two or three weeks now at a fantastic level, and we are optimistic. It shows in his character and in the happiness he exudes,” Herrera said.

Regardless of the time Ramos has missed, the former Real Madrid captain will be needed in the second half as PSG prepares for their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match against his former club.
