Argentina 2-0 Poland

Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi turned out to be the top performer in the Argentina national team’s 2-0 victory over Poland in 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage play. Messi did not register a goal or an assist against Poland, however, he was active whenever he gained possession in the final third. Ultimatel, the Argentine forward produced five goal-scoring opportunities for his fellow teammates and also reckoned five dribbles in the match.

Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Julian Alvarez helped Argentina to get into the last 16 as Group C winners following Wojciech Szczesny saving a spot kick. Poland also went through to the last 16 as runners-up of Group C, however, a 2-1 victory for Mexico over Saudi Arabia in the group’s other match indicated that Czeslaw Michniewicz’s men progressed only because of the goal difference.
