Aston Villa and Leicester City end with a goalless draw

Aston Villa put a stop to their run of four straight defeats with a goalless draw against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Lucas Digne was replaced by Ashley Young. Digne would not be seen in the remainder of the season as well. On the other hand, Leon Bailey started before Danny Ings who dropped to the bench.

After the match ended, manager Steven Gerrard confirmed that the Jamaican set his start after his good performance in the training over the past 10 days. It is Villa’s first draw of this season. Bailey had the chance to put Villa ahead during the opening quarter of the match. It looked like Leicester was beginning to control the match but didn’t seem like a threat from the opening game. Gerrard’s men now move on 37 points picking their 10th clean sheet of the season.
