The Moroccan international gained notoriety for his achievements at the winter World Cup, when he assisted his team in reaching the semifinals before losing to France. Spurs, Inter, and the Saudi club Al-Ahli have all expressed interest in the Sevilla player. According to Spanish newspaper AS, Aston Villa is also interested in Bounou and that interest has grown recently.
The Moroccan custodian may be a contender to take Emiliano Martinez's position if he decides to leave Aston Villa. Sevilla reportedly wouldn't accept any proposals for less than €25 million. Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia would be prepared to satisfy Sevilla financially, but it's questionable whether Bounou would support that action. With two years remaining on his current contract, Bounou played in 36 games for Sevilla this season and had seven shutouts.
