Leeds United was thrashed by Aston Villa 2-1 in a thrilling match at Villa Park, giving Jesse Marsch's team seven losses in a row across all leagues.
At Villa Park, Villa jumped off to an early advantage after only three minutes as Leon Bailey finished off a quick counterattack. During the second half, goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez kept Leeds at a distance. Emiliano Buendia's header in the 64th minute was originally disallowed for offside but later awarded after a VAR review, and this gave the hosts the lead.
Merely two points separate Leeds, who are now in position 14, from the relegation zone, and Villa, who are in position 11, with 25 points.
