Atalanta’s current campaign at the most crucial time in the season goes from bad to worst with the recent home defeat against Hellas Verona. The loss puts a damper on their chances of earning a European qualification this season. Last week itself Atalanta was dealt with the heartbreak of the Europa League quarter-final exit after they lost against RB Leipzig. Verona worked like a well-oiled machine on the ground in the latest Serie A match.
Verona came close to opening the score at 25 minutes with Marco Davide Faraoni putting one past at the back post and volleying it onto the upright minutes later Caprari also hit the frame and his efforts bounced off the top of the crossbar. Their efforts were ultimately successful when Federico Ceccherini netted at the stroke of half-time and the defender got his first-ever goal for Hellas. Koopmeiners’ OG did not help matters for Atalanta which was then pulled back by Giorgio Scalvini’s free header from 12 yards away to end the match at 2-1.
