Athletic Bilbao thrashes Getafe 5-1

Athletic Bilbao clinches its way in the top of the table with the 5-1 thrashing of Getafe in La Liga to go 9th on the table. Bilbao came from behind after the visitors took an early lead with Marc Cucurella scoring for them right at the start to stun the hosts.Raúl Garcia later equalized for Bilbao in the 12th minute while Getafe would rue the moment, they missed a chance to get ahead when Jaime Mata's 29th-minute penalty was denied.

Bilbao in the second half was absolutely stunning with Yeray Alvarez scoring in the 50th minute, Garcia hit again and Alex Berenguer and Oscar De Marcos also got in the chance to feature on the scoresheet with late goals that lifted the club ahead and are now one point above Getafe.
