Athletic Bilbao's 'full offensive' for Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente

The Basque giants are working on a series of possible transfer targets while both coach Gaizka Garitano and sporting director Rafa Alkorta are fans of the Spurs striker, according to El Correo.

The 33-year-old netted 118 goals between 2004 and 2012 at San Mamés but has only 27 minutes across 20 Premier League games this season.

New Athletic president Aitor Elizegi has said Garitano deserves to work with a ‘reinforced squad in full’ and has given his approval to the pursuit of a new striker.

Athletic have already confirmed the return of playmaker Ibai Gòmez from Alavés while they are also said to hold an interest in former players Javi Martìnez and Ander Herrera.

Llorente will be out-of-contract in the summer, so he is free to begin negotiating a free transfer on this month and he netted an FA Cup hat-trick against Tranmere Rovers earlier this month.
