Athletic Club vs Barcelona final score 1-1 concluded with a draw

Barcelona's first away game of the La Liga season ended in a 1-1 tie against Athletic Bilbao at San Mamés. Barça was outplayed in the first half and fell behind early in the second, but came back to dominate the final 30 minutes, with Memphis Depay's first official goal for the club salvaging an important point in the Basque Country.

Martin Braithwaite missed a five-yard sitter, while Ronald Araujo's bicycle kick goal was disallowed. Those were the two high points of Barcelona's first half. The remaining 45 minutes were fully dominated by Athletic, who pressed from the start and smothered Barça's buildup. Athletic started the second half just as well and got the goal they deserved, which came on a Muniain corner that Iigo Martnez headed in barely five minutes in.
