Atletico Madrid 3-1 over Granada

With a 3-1 home victory over promoted Granada, Atletico Madrid completed the opening round of the Spanish Liga season and ascended to the top of the standings. Seven minutes into the first half's extra time, Alvaro Morata handed the home team the lead. Atletico Madrid's Cesar Azpilicueta crossed the ball, and Malaga center-back Jesus Vallejo misjudged his clearing header, sending the ball right to the open Alvaro Morata, who scored.

After Yannick Carrasco dropped the ball while attempting to dribble out of defence, Malaga equalised in the 63rd minute. Samu Omorodion successfully scored a goal after Gonzalo Villar sent a cross into the goal area. Five minutes later, Carrasco made up for it with a straightforward assist. He rolled a short pass square to Depay, who smashed a shot in from 25 yards away.
