Atletico Madrid are keeping a tab on Emiliano Martinez

The La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid have been hunting for a goalkeeper all summer and have finally found the answer with Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez. Making him a top priority in their transfer target Atleti would make a move probably in January now. Former Arsenal ace joined Villa in the summer of 2020 after signing a £17 million deal. Since then the 29-year-old has climbed the ranks and is probably the first name in Dean Smith’s main squad.

The Argentina international’s signing is one of the most successful deals at Villa Park, the goalkeeper has proved his mettle by keeping 16 clean sheets in 41 games, this hasn't gone unnoticed either as the Spanish side considers Martinez as a replacement for Jan Oblak. But the real question is would Aston Villa let him go?
