It is official, Matheus Cunha has joined Atletico Madrid from Hertha Berlin. The Olympic Gold Medal winner would play with the Spanish giants till June 2026 after inking a five year with the club. The Brazilian has made the international move on an undisclosed fee though it would be upwards of €26 million, as per the agreement Hertha Berlin would also receive 10% of future sales as well. Atleti have been hunting for a striker for the team for some time but they can now close the chapter.
Colchoneros at one point were even linked with Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic. Cunha is a versatile player and Atletico would benefit from it as they defend the La Liga title this season, with a powerful trio of Luis Suarez, Joao Felix, and Cunha.
