Atletico Madrid finds 1-0 win against Elche

A home win for defending champions Atletico Madrid in front of the fans helps them top the table. It was a second back-to-back win for the La Liga champions at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Sunday. Angel Correa scored the lone goal of the match against Elche as they add to the opening match win. While Real Madrid was held back by Levante even when they were without their goalkeeper who was chucked out of the match and was replaced by a defender for the last 10 minutes.

In the Atleti match, Luis Suarez was absent and Correa took the leading role and score his third goal of the season while La Liga ace was benched.  Earlier in the opener, Correa had netted both the goals in the team’s 2-1 win against Celta Vigo. In the third La Liga match of the day Real Sociedad shrugged off their Barcelona loss to beat promoted Rayo Vallecano by 1-0.
