Atletico Madrid wins the La Liga title on the last day

As the La Liga title race was pushed till the final day, the team that had dominated the table for so long but stumbled at the end of the season enough to risk losing the title to Real Madrid and Barcelona. Making the title race all the more interesting to witness. But alas! Atletico Madrid waited for 14 years for the title and was not ready to wait for one more. 

Angel Correa and Luis Suarez poured in goals for Atletico Madrid who fought back from one goal down to seize the title by winning by 2-1 against Real Valladolid. Only a win could have handed them a title and the pressure of it was high they were caught flat-footed on the break in the 18th minute. The visitors' defense looked weak at first giving enough time for Valladolid’s Oscar Plano to beat Jan Oblak.  Angel Correa then grabbled a leveler to make it 1-1 and Luis Suarez found a winner in the 66th minute.
