Atletico maintains its reign at the top in Spanish League

Luis Suarez netted his 500th goal at home against struggling Alaves as the team saw a 1-0 win in La Liga on Sunday. Alaves also saw their late penalty being saved by Jan Oblak as he saved the team from losing the two points and helped maintain a four-point lead at the top.

Suarez scored in the second half with a powerful header just nine minutes after the break and later Atletico maintained its control on possession and denying any chances to Alaves to score but Stefan Savic later gave Alaves an opportunity to score with a penalty with just six minutes left on the clock while Joselu did his best but Oblak’s smart moves kept Atletico from conceding. In another match, Barcelona was quick on their feet and castrated Real Sociedad with a 6-1 win.
