Atletico missed out on increasing its lead draws 2-2 with Celta

Luis Suarez stared once again but could not save Atletico Madrid from missing out on increasing the lead in the Spanish league. The Atletico’s squad was depleted because of the virus and conceded a late goal denying them a win despite a double by Suarez. Celta held Atletico to a 2-2 draw with a late 89th-minute equalizer scored by Facundo Ferreyra before that Suarez had put his side ahead with a goal on either side to take his total to 16 in the league.

Barca and Madrid saw their gap to the top decrease to eight points a win would have seen them to a 10-point lead. Celta remains winless for seven matches and in 10 place. Santi Mina also scored during the night in the 13th minute.
