Barca ruled out signing Courtois twice

Talking about Thibaut Courtois is talking about one of the best goalkeepers in the world at the moment. Real Madrid's great season last term was, largely, thanks to Courtois' work.

The Belgian goalkeeper is the main man in the whole Real Madrid defence. That said, history would have been very different if Barcelona had decided to go after him.

'Carrusel Deportivo' said that on up to two occasions, Courtois could move to Barca, but finally, he did not do so.

The first of those was in 2011. Courtois belonged to Genk. Barcelona refused to pay three million euros and, finally, he ended up at Chelsea, who loaned him out at Atletico Madrid.

The second occasion was in 2014. After his second loan spell at Atletico Madrid, Courtois had to return to Chelsea, Barca's board decided to sign Ter Stegen.
