Barcelona is eyeing Real Valladolid’s Jordi Masip as they aim to improve their goalkeeping options during the summer transfer window. The 32-year-old shot-stopper Jordi Masip is actually a product of the Barcelona youth academy and has put in 10 years of his time with the club in the past. He made his first debut for Barcelona in 2014 and could not gain enough support from the club and played second-fiddle, first to Victor Valdes, and then to Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Seeing that there might not be a future with Catalans after 79 outings the player inked a deal with Real Valladolid on a free transfer in 2017. Masip then went on to help the club back in La Liga and in his 142 appearances since he has kept 34 clean sheets. While Marc-Andre ter Stegen still remains their No.1 choice, Neto has grown frustrated with lack of gametime in two years with the club and Arsenal and West Ham United have expressed interest in the Brazilian. Apart from Masip, Barca is also considering Inaki Pena, and Andre Onana of AFC Ajax.
