Barcelona and Atletico Madrid fighting for a target

Inigo Martinez, a defender for Athletic Club, has been a target for the Catalan powerhouse since last year. Los Rojiblancos had made inquiries about him. Barcelona's other summer target, Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, is being pursued by Atletico Madrid, who is committed to completing the deal. The La Liga leaders launched a last-minute effort to recruit the Moroccan midfielder in January. The guy was dead set on joining Barcelona, even willing to turn down offers from Manchester United and Chelsea in order to play for free at Camp Nou.

He is one of Barça's top three summer targets, along with Athletico Paranaense star Vitor Roque and Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco, after they lost out on signing him last month. Sergio Busquets' contract ends in the summer, and there has been no movement towards a renewal yet. Amrabat may be considered as a replacement.
