Barcelona edged closer to title with Real Sociedad win

Goals from Jordi Alba and Clement Lenglet secured a 2-1 win at the Nou Camp for Barcelona on Saturday night - with six more points guaranteeing them a second successive La Liga title.

If Ernesto Valverde's side beat Alaves and Levante, they will be champions by next weekend, and free to concentrate on pushing for their first Champions League final since 2015.

In a first half of few chances, French international Lenglet stole into to power home a near post corner from Ousmane Dembélé, right on the stroke of half time.

The Basque side rallied after the break and Juanmi levelled on 62 minutes after former Newcastle United midfielder Mikel Merino picked him out with a brilliant slide rule pass.

However the even score line did not last long, with Alba scoring a fantastic second goal just two minutes later.
